The Painted Hearts were formed in Canberra in 2005 by Peter Robert Davis with Matt Nightingale on bass and Kevin Nicol on drums as the original lineup. Since 2015 Davis ie the band has been based in Melbourne. Band members have included Matt Dixon guitar, bass players Owen Andrews, Zoe Frater, Luke Richardson; drummers Mike Oakley, Rick Millband, John Milton, Renato VaCirca, Ben Wiesner.
